Hong Kong Customs Seizes Suspected Ketamine

June 16, 2015 –┬áHong Kong Customs seized 7.5 kilograms of suspected ketamine and arrested one man in San Tin, the Customs and Excise Department announced on Tuesday.

The market value of the seizure was about 900,000 HK dollars ( 116,000 U.S.dollars). The 16-year-old arrestee, claiming to be a baker, was charged with one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug.

The arrestee will appear at the Fanling Magistrates’ Courts tomorrow.

Under Hong Kong’s Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of 5 million HK dollars.
